As part of our interview series this summer we talk to founders, staff members, guest speakers and mentors. This week: two RED Labs class 3 founders from Towbee, Kyle and Kenny.
Kyle is the co-founder of Towbee. He is currently studying mechanical engineering at UH and is a member of the honors college.
I chose RED Labs because of the successful companies I’ve seen come out of the program. I’ve heard great things about its curriculum! I also think Bayou Startup Showcase will be an excellent opportunity for Towbee.
Busy, fun & helpful.
I’ve been working on cars since I was 10. I also enjoy racing cars. I spent two and a half years as a subsea engineer.
I plan to grow Towbee as much as possible and see how far we can expand it.
Work it – Missy Elliott.
Kenny is a computer science student in the honors college at UH. He also works at the games room at UH and is programming the website for a local tutoring company.
I think it’s a really amazing opportunity. I’ve read a lot about different accelerators and always wanted to participate in one. This seems like a great chance to be involved.
Intense, exciting & impressive.
I’ve been programming since I was 11. I originally wanted to do theatrical lighting, but decided I didn’t actually want to be in that industry. I also thought about electrical engineering but then I decided I wanted to focus on software instead of hardware, so I ended up in computer science.
I want to take Towbee as far as it can go. I also hope to move to California or New York someday.
